Ms. Katherine was born and raised in Guayaquil, Ecuador. She trained in classical ballet at the Instituto Nacional de Danza "Raymond Maugé Thoniel" Guayaquil, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance. Professionally, Katherine has danced for Ballet of Teatro Centro de Arte in Guayaquil doing classical repertories.
In the United States,she continued her ballet training at The University of South Florida in Tampa, FL for 2 years. Also in Steps on Broadway and Broadway Dance Center in NYC indifferent genres like Contemporary, Lyrical and Jazz. Some of her teachers have been Freddy Rivadeneira, Héctor Zaraspe, Oliver Pascalin, Elena Kournikiva, Leslie Browne, David Howard.
Her classical repertoire includes soloist roles in The Nutcracker as well as Swan Lake, La Bayadère, Sleeping Beauty, Carmen, Spring Waters and others. Ms. Katherine has coached and choreographed award winning competition dances for several years. She is the director of her own Preschool Dance Program in different locations in the Northeast Houston Territory.
She has obtained a certification from the Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT) to enhance the body awareness and the alignment in her ballet classes.
Ms. Katherine has taught all age levels and genres of dance. She particularly enjoys teaching young dancers, as she finds it very rewarding to instill the love of dance in her young students. Ms. Katherine's goal is to have a healthy mix of fun and learning so the dancers can reach their fullest potential.
